AlwaysTivi IPTV EPG: TV Guide, Live Sports and PPV

With tens of thousands of live channels, the hard part of IPTV is not finding something to watch, it's finding it in time. That's the job of the IPTV EPG, the electronic program guide. Every AlwaysTivi plan includes a TV guide (EPG) and pay-per-view (PPV) events alongside 35,000+ live channels and sports. This guide explains how the EPG works, how to use it to follow live sports, and what to check so a big game doesn't freeze at the wrong moment.

What is an IPTV EPG?

EPG stands for electronic program guide: the on-screen grid that shows what's on each channel now, what's on next, and what's coming later in the day. On cable or satellite it's built into the box. With IPTV, the guide data comes from your service and your player app displays it.

An IPTV with EPG lets you:

  • See what's on now and next without flicking through channels one by one.
  • Browse ahead to find a match, a film or a show later in the day.
  • Read a short description of a programme before you switch to it.
  • Jump straight to a channel from the guide.

Without a guide, a list of 35,000+ channels is just a list. With one, it becomes TV you can plan around.

The AlwaysTivi TV guide (EPG)

Every AlwaysTivi plan includes the TV guide (EPG), whatever its length (1, 3, 6 or 12 months) and its number of devices (1, 2 or 4). There is no "guide add-on" to buy.

How the guide looks depends on your player app: some show a classic grid, others a list of now-and-next per channel. What they share is the data from your AlwaysTivi login. A few tips to get the most from it:

  1. Let it load the first time. After you sign in, the app downloads the guide; give it a minute before you open it.
  2. Refresh it if it's empty. Most players have a "refresh EPG" or "update guide" option in their settings.
  3. Check the time zone. If programmes look shifted by a few hours, set your device's time zone correctly, or adjust the time offset in the player.
  4. Use favourites. Group the channels you actually watch, so the guide shows a short, useful list.

How to find a match in the guide

  1. Open the TV guide from the player's main menu.
  2. Filter by a sports category or your favourites group, if the app offers it, so you scroll through a handful of channels instead of thousands.
  3. Move forward in time with the arrow keys or by swiping until you reach the day and hour of the event.
  4. Select the programme to read its description and check the start time.
  5. Note the channel, or add it to your favourites, so you can jump straight to it when the event begins.

Not sure which player shows the guide best on your device? Our guide to choosing an IPTV player explains what to look for, and the team on WhatsApp tells you which app to install.

IPTV for sports: what AlwaysTivi includes

Sports are part of the core catalogue: every plan lists "35,000+ live channels & sports", with international channels and local channels from the US, the UK and Canada. You don't pay a sports supplement on top of your plan.

The line-up is broad and changes over time, as it does on any IPTV service. If a particular competition or channel is the reason you're signing up, ask the team on WhatsApp before you order, or check it during the free trial.

PPV IPTV: pay-per-view events on your plan

Pay-per-view (PPV) events are one-off broadcasts, often major fights or special events, that traditional TV sells separately per event. AlwaysTivi includes pay-per-view (PPV) events with the same login you use for the live channels, the on-demand library and the guide.

As with any live event, the schedule is set by the broadcaster, so use the EPG to see when it starts, and open the channel a few minutes early.

How to watch live sports on IPTV without freezes

Live sport is the hardest test for any stream: there's no buffer ahead, and a ten-second freeze can hide the one moment that matters. These steps make the biggest difference:

  1. Use a wired connection. An Ethernet cable to the TV or streaming box is steadier than Wi-Fi.
  2. Choose HD for the big moments if you've seen stutter. 4K Ultra HD needs much more bandwidth; HD keeps the stream smooth on a connection that's only just enough. Our 4K IPTV guide covers this in detail.
  3. Free up the network. Pause downloads, game updates and other streams in the house during the match.
  4. Restart before kick-off. Restart the streaming device and the app shortly before the event, especially on a stick that has been on for days.
  5. Open the channel early. Tune in a few minutes ahead so the stream is settled when the action starts.
  6. Keep support at hand. If a channel misbehaves, message the team on WhatsApp with the device, the app and the channel. Support is available 24/7.

For general internet speed, AlwaysTivi doesn't publish a minimum. As a benchmark, Netflix recommends "15 Mbps or higher" for ultra high definition (4K) streaming.

Which AlwaysTivi plan for a sports household?

Every plan includes the same channels, sports, PPV events, guide and 4K Ultra HD quality. What changes is the length and how many devices you can use:

Plan1 month3 months6 months12 months
1 device$15$29.99$35.50$59.99
2 devices$25.55$45.50$59.99$105.50
4 devices$49.99$79.99$122.99$199.99

If one person watches the match on the living-room TV while someone else follows another game on a tablet, choose the plan for 2 devices; a bigger household with several screens fits the plan for 4 devices. Longer plans cost less per month: 12 months on 1 device works out at about $5 a month. Compare every option on the plans page.

AlwaysTivi IPTV EPG and sports: FAQ

Does AlwaysTivi include a TV guide?

Yes. Every plan includes the TV guide (EPG), shown in your IPTV player once you sign in with your login.

Why is my IPTV EPG empty?

The guide usually needs a minute to download after you sign in. If it stays empty, use the player's refresh-guide option and restart the app; if that doesn't help, message the team on WhatsApp.

Are PPV events included with AlwaysTivi?

Pay-per-view (PPV) events are included with your plan and play with the same login as the live channels.

Can I watch sports on two screens at once?

Choose a plan for 2 or 4 devices if more than one screen in your home will be watching at the same time. Plans cover 1, 2 or 4 devices.

How do I know if a specific sports channel is available?

Ask the team on WhatsApp before you order, or check it yourself during the free trial. Channel line-ups change over time on every IPTV service.
